Ann Arbor

... Read moreWow, if you're looking for an unforgettable culinary journey in Ann Arbor, you absolutely have to check out Tabe! I recently had the pleasure of experiencing their Omakase, and it was truly on another level. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is just right – beautiful yet intimate, setting the perfect stage for what's to come. It feels like a genuine escape from the everyday hustle. My dining partner and I opted for the 9-course Omakase on the second floor, and each dish was a masterpiece. The chefs here are incredibly skilled, meticulously preparing every plate right before your eyes. It’s not just food; it’s an art form that engages all your senses. The nigiri sushi and hand rolls were some of the best I've ever tasted – incredibly fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned rice, and fish that just melted in your mouth. Seriously, if you're a sushi aficionado or new to Omakase, you won't be disappointed. The quality and craftsmanship truly stand out among Japanese restaurants in the area. A standout for me was definitely the roasted salmon. It was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and bursting with incredible flavors. Every course was a delightful surprise, showcasing a blend of traditional techniques with innovative twists. While the price point for an Omakase experience like this is typically higher than your average sushi spot, the unparalleled quality, exquisite presentation, and overall immersive experience at Tabe make it completely worth it for a special occasion or when you're craving something truly exceptional. It's an investment in an amazing memory and a truly elevated dining adventure, not just a meal. Beyond the Omakase, I peeked at their Asian Fusion menu on the first floor, and it looked equally enticing. Apparently, they offer a diverse array of dishes that combine various Asian culinary traditions, promising a unique dining experience for those who prefer a more à la carte approach or want to explore different flavors. It’s fantastic that they cater to different preferences, whether you're in the mood for an immersive Omakase or a delicious Asian fusion dinner. This dual concept truly sets Tabe apart. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the whole fine dining experience. They were attentive without being intrusive, and happy to explain each dish as it was served, adding to the educational and enjoyable aspect of Omakase. This spot really is perfect for a classy date night, an anniversary celebration, or simply when you want to treat yourself to an elevated dining experience. If you're searching for a top-tier Japanese restaurant or an outstanding Omakase in Ann Arbor, Tabe should be at the very top of your list. I highly recommend making reservations, especially for the Omakase, as spaces can fill up quickly. Don't miss out on what I believe is one of Ann Arbor's newest culinary gems. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu!
