What’s your favorite tea?
I’m obsessed with tea, but I want to try new teas! Drop down your favorite tea & maybe I’ll try it for myself as well 😋 #lemon8diarychallenge #hightea #tea #milktea #teaaesthetic Prince Tea House
As an avid tea enthusiast, there’s nothing quite like a warm mug to make any day better, especially when it's chilly outside, like during those crisp NYC winters. I completely get that feeling of being obsessed with tea and wanting to discover new blends! My journey into the world of tea started simply, but it quickly blossomed into a quest to try 'some tea' from every corner of the globe. If you’re like me, always looking for your next favorite brew, let’s dive into a few different types of tea that have truly captured my heart (and taste buds!). First up, Black Tea. This is often what people think of when they say 'tea.' It's fully oxidized, giving it a robust, malty flavor. I've found that a strong English Breakfast or a fragrant Earl Grey (with a hint of bergamot!) is the perfect way to kickstart a morning or to keep me productive during an afternoon slump. It’s incredibly warming and comforting, a true staple. Then there’s Green Tea. Unlike black tea, green tea is minimally oxidized, which preserves its delicate, fresh flavor. I adore a good Sencha for its grassy notes and vibrant color – it feels so refreshing and light. Matcha, a powdered green tea, has also become a ritual for me. Its earthy, slightly sweet taste and creamy texture are incredibly invigorating, offering a different kind of warmth and focus. Herbal Infusions (technically not 'tea' as they don't come from the Camellia sinensis plant, but widely loved!) are another world entirely. Peppermint tea is my go-to for soothing digestion, while chamomile is a must for unwinding before bed. For something a bit more unique, I’ve been exploring rooibos, a South African red bush tea that’s naturally caffeine-free and has a lovely, slightly sweet, nutty flavor. It's incredibly cozy and perfect for those evenings when I need 'some tea' to help me relax. Next, we have Oolong Tea, which sits beautifully between green and black tea in terms of oxidation. This category is so diverse! Some oolongs are light and floral, almost like a green tea, while others are darker and more roasted, reminiscent of black tea. I recently tried a milk oolong that had a naturally creamy, buttery note – it was a revelation! It offers a complex and sophisticated sipping experience. And let's not forget White Tea, the least processed of all. It’s known for its delicate, subtle flavors and often has a slightly sweet, floral aroma. Silver Needle is a personal favorite; it’s so light and refreshing, perfect for a calm moment. Exploring these different types of tea has truly enriched my daily routine. Each one offers a unique experience, whether I need something to keep me warm, perk me up, or help me unwind during these NYC winters. It's not just about the drink; it's about the moment of peace it brings. What new tea are you curious to try?
