No gatekeeping. Sharing my all time favorite “from scratch” recipe, step by step. If you have a stand mixer, it will save you some time, BUT in my opinion - the messy, sticky kneading process is so much fun. You’ll finish baking that tray of fresh bagels, step back, and say, “Yes. I did that.” 😎🥯
-2 cups flour
-1 cup Greek yogurt (Fage)
-1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1/2 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice)
-1 tsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt
Knead until you have a workable dough, cut into four, then form into bagel shapes. Add an egg wash and your flavors of choice. Bake at 350F, 25 minutes!
