Gothica Botanica | Eden Park Dr. Cincinnati, OH

Krohn Conservatory

May 10 - August 10 | 10 AM to 8 PM

We HIGHLY recommend. The conservatory was so beautiful and my little and I had so much more fun than we expected 👐🥰 You get a one hour window to see and “catch” the butterflies, and I swear it just flew by.

Maybe we’ll see you there next time 💕

... Read moreOh my goodness, you HAVE to add Krohn Conservatory's Gothica Botanica Butterfly Exhibit to your must-do list in Cincinnati! When I say my family and I had more fun than we expected, I truly mean it. It's not just a butterfly exhibit; it's an immersive experience that feels like stepping into a lush, tropical paradise. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted by the vibrant greens of countless plants and trees, with the gentle sound of a circular water fountain setting a serene mood. The atmosphere is just incredible, truly living up to the 'Garden of Eden' feel. We loved seeing visitors of all ages exploring, but it was especially heartwarming to watch little ones, like my own, sitting on stone benches, eyes wide with wonder, hoping to spot a hidden butterfly. The one-hour window for seeing and interacting with the butterflies absolutely flew by! It’s such a unique feeling to have these delicate creatures fluttering all around you. They even provide yellow 'catch' cards, which are amazing for getting a closer look. We saw a beautiful brown butterfly with prominent eye-spots gracefully land on a card, and later, a white and brown butterfly cozied up for a moment. It's such a gentle way to connect with nature without disturbing them. Beyond the butterflies, the conservatory itself is a treat. There's a dedicated play area for children, complete with a colorful plastic flower building toy set, which was a fantastic bonus for keeping the kids entertained. And for a sweet treat after all that exploring, grabbing an ice cream is a perfect way to end the visit. Just imagine enjoying a cool treat after a warm, butterfly-filled adventure! A quick tip: wear comfortable shoes! While the exhibit is beautiful, there's a bit of walking, and you might even encounter a long outdoor concrete staircase surrounded by trees as you explore the surrounding Eden Park. It truly makes for a full day of family fun and discovery. We highly, highly recommend it and can't wait to go back. Maybe we'll see you there next time!
