This week's news, the 2025 Global Corruption Index, has been announced. This year, Thailand has only scored 33 points out of 100 points (the less points, the more corruptions).

Thailand's ranking has fallen from 115 to 116 out of 182 countries worldwide, falling for the fourth consecutive year.

Compared to other ASEAN countries, Thailand is lower than Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Laos, with Thailand higher than only the Philippines, Cambodia and Mianma.

The low the ranking of the 'Corruption Index' has an impact on the confidence of foreign investors, because the lower the score means that risky businesses will have the added cost of paying bribes, and it also affects economic development and public quality of life.

จากประสบการณ์และการติดตามข่าวสารดัชนีคอร์รัปชันโลก (Corruption Perceptions Index - CPI) พบว่าอันดับของประเทศไทยมีแนวโน้มตกต่ำลงอย่างต่อเนื่องถึง 4 ปีซ้อน โดยประเทศไทยอยู่ในอันดับที่ 116 จาก 182 ประเทศ ซึ่งถือว่ายังต่ำกว่าหลายประเทศในอาเซียนอย่างชัดเจน เช่น สิงคโปร์ ที่ได้คะแนนสูงถึง 84 คะแนน และมาเลเซียที่ได้ 54 คะแนน สิ่งนี้บ่งบอกว่าการทุจริตในภาครัฐและเอกชนยังคงเป็นปัญหาใหญ่ที่สร้างผลกระทบต่อภาพลักษณ์ของประเทศ ความเชื่อมั่นจากนักลงทุนต่างชาติยังลดน้อยลง เพราะธุรกิจต้องเผชิญกับความเสี่ยงด้านต้นทุนที่เพิ่มมาจากการจ่ายสินบน ซึ่งส่งผลร้ายทั้งต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนโดยรวม ในมุมผู้ใช้ชีวิตในสังคมไทยจากประสบการณ์ตรง การทุจริตและการใช้อิทธิพลยังคงพบเห็นได้ในหลายระดับ ตั้งแต่เรื่องเล็กๆ ในชีวิตประจำวันจนถึงระดับองค์กรใหญ่ ทำให้หลายคนรู้สึกท้อแท้และไม่มั่นใจในระบบ ทำให้การเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ต้องการต้องเริ่มจากการร่วมมือทั้งภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และประชาชน ที่ต้องร่วมกันตื่นตัว มุ่งมั่นแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างโปร่งใสและจริงจัง การรับรู้และเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับดัชนีคอร์รัปชันนี้ถือเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ดี เพราะทำให้เราทราบว่าไทยยังมีช่องว่างในการพัฒนาและเปลี่ยนแปลงขนาดไหน นอกจากนี้ยังช่วยเตือนให้นักลงทุนและนักธุรกิจมองหาโอกาสในการร่วมมือกับภาคส่วนที่โปร่งใสมากขึ้น เพื่อผลักดันให้ประเทศไทยเป็นประเทศที่น่าลงทุนและน่าอยู่มากขึ้นในอนาคต
