In my experience, the most common root causes are corrupted installation media, RAM problems, or disk and BIOS settings interfering with the process. For instance, when creating a bootable USB installer, using the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool ensures a clean and uncorrupted installation source—this often resolves file read errors that halt installation. RAM is another frequent culprit. I learned that cleaning the gold contacts on the RAM modules with a soft eraser and reinstalling them can improve connectivity. Testing installation with one RAM stick at a time helps identify faulty modules without guesswork. Disk errors contribute too. Using the built-in CHKDSK utility from the command prompt during the setup error screen fixes bad sectors that prevent file copying. If possible, backing up data and performing complete disk formatting with partition deletion cleans the environment for a fresh start. A BIOS reset to factory defaults can also resolve installation blocks caused by misconfigured hardware settings. This step is especially useful if your PC has been overclocked or customized extensively.
