Daughter of Silver Storms by Elm Vince was such an intriguing and fresh twist on The Little Mermaid! 🧜♀️✨ Instead of a mermaid, Princess Mhariel is a selkie—a seal who can take human form but risks being trapped on land without her voice if she loses her seal fur. The lore was so creative and beautifully done.
The story really shines with the enemies-to-lovers arc between Mhariel and Prince Torian. 💔❤️ He initially captures her and hides her seal fur to force her cooperation, setting the stage for tension and mistrust. Torian is broody and carries deep hatred for her kind, while Mhariel is fiery, brave, and determined to fight for what’s right. Watching them slowly learn to trust and work together to protect both their people from the fae was a highlight of the book. ⚔️🌊
