Tiger cockroaches flower during the winter or during cold and dry weather, which in northern Thailand is usually between November and January.
There is a belief that the tiger cockroach tree is like an "air drought indicator," because if the weather is not really dry, the tiger cockroach tree will rarely fully flower. Seeing the tiger cockroach blossom is a sign of cold and dry weather.
The blossoms 🪻 are lightly white-purple or light blue clustered bouquets, fluffy in appearance, often along roadsides, public ways, or common wastelands. When flowering simultaneously, many look as beautiful as a light white carpet covering the area.
🪻 the origin of the name "tiger cockroach," the flowers of this plant are not fragrant, but instead have a specific pungent smell like "cockroach." According to ancient belief, the ancients used running into a tiger cockroach grove to help disguise the smell from ferocious animals (such as tigers) to smell it.

ดอกสาบเสือ (Chromolaena odorata) เป็นพืชที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการบ่งบอกสภาพอากาศในฤดูหนาวของประเทศไทย โดยเฉพาะบริเวณภาคเหนือ ที่มาของชื่อ "สาบเสือ" มีเรื่องเล่าจากอดีตว่า กลิ่นฉุนเฉพาะตัวของดอกอาจช่วยให้มนุษย์สามารถซ่อนกลิ่นตัวจากสัตว์ที่เป็นอันตราย เช่น เสือ ได้ นอกจากจะเป็นสัญลักษณ์ทางธรรมชาติบ่งชี้ความแห้งแล้งและอากาศหนาวเย็น ดอกสาบเสือยังมีบทบาทต่อระบบนิเวศในท้องถิ่นอย่างมาก เนื่องจากเป็นแหล่งอาหารสำคัญของผึ้งเลี้ยงในฤดูหนาว ช่วยสร้างสมดุลทางนิเวศในช่วงที่ดอกไม้อื่นๆ ยังไม่ออกดอก พร้อมทั้งรองรับการขยายพันธุ์ของผึ้งซึ่งมีความสำคัญต่อการผสมเกสรพันธุ์พืชต่างๆ ในด้านสมุนไพร ดอกสาบเสือมีสรรพคุณช่วยชูกำลังและบำรุงหัวใจ ส่วนใบใช้ห้ามเลือดและช่วยสมานแผลโดยการนำใบสดมาขยี้แล้วประคบบริเวณบาดแผล นอกจากนี้ ต้นและใบของดอกสาบเสือยังถูกนำไปใช้เป็นยาฆ่าแมลงตามตำรายาโบราณ ทำให้ดอกสาบเสือมีความสำคัญทั้งในด้านการแพทย์พื้นบ้านและการเกษตร ดอกสาบเสือในภาพรวม ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นวัชพืชริมทางทั่วไป แต่ยังสื่อถึงความงามของธรรมชาติที่ปรากฏในฤดูหนาว พร้อมคุณค่าในด้านสังคมและวัฒนธรรมไทย ที่ผู้คนในชนบทเห็นดอกนี้แล้วรู้สึกถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงของฤดูกาลและความสำคัญของธรรมชาติที่ต้องรักษาไว้
