Pre-Lesson school horse forelock plaiting 🫶

2/11 Edited to

... Read morePlaiting your horse's forelock before lessons not only improves their appearance but also helps keep the hair tidy and out of the way during riding or training sessions. From personal experience, starting with clean, dry hair makes the plait hold better throughout the day. Begin by brushing the forelock carefully to remove any tangles, then divide it into even sections depending on how many plaits you want. I prefer smaller, tighter plaits for a polished look that lasts longer through movement. Use small, clear or matching-colored bands to secure each plait neatly. Avoid pulling the hair too tightly to keep your horse comfortable and prevent hair damage. If your horse's forelock is thick or coarse, a detangler spray can make the process smoother. During lessons, these plaits can protect your horse from the distraction of loose hairs, helping them stay focused. Plus, it’s a great way to showcase your grooming skills and attention to detail at shows or competitions. With practice, forelock plaiting becomes a quick and enjoyable part of your grooming routine, enhancing the overall presentation and comfort of your horse before every school lesson.

Let’s talk about piebaldism! A lot of people think I have vitiligo, but it’s actually called piebaldism. I don’t think there are very many creators with piebaldism or a lot of awareness for the skin condition, but I have found a Facebook page! According to my former dermatologist, people born
