Plat and MVP RANK

Hey everyone! I know the struggle is real when you feel stuck in Platinum as a League of Legends support. It felt like I was playing endless games, trying everything, but that 'Plat plateau' just wouldn't budge. I've been there, staring at my rank, wondering if I'd ever see that diamond border. But I'm here to tell you, I finally broke through, and you can too! This isn't just about grinding; it's about smart play and a few key adjustments that made all the difference for me. First off, let's talk about vision control. As a support, this is your superpower. It's not just about placing wards, but effective warding. Think about where the enemy jungler wants to go, where their mid-laner might roam, and secure vision there. Control river bushes, deep wards in their jungle when safe, and always carry a sweeper. Denying enemy vision is just as important as gaining your own. I found that mastering vision alone led to so many more "VICTORY" screens because my team had the intel needed to make better decisions. Next, understanding your role beyond just babysitting the ADC. While protecting your carry is crucial, a good support impacts the whole map. Look for roaming opportunities when your ADC is safe under tower or has backed. A well-timed roam to mid-lane can snowball your entire team. I used to be afraid to leave my ADC, but once I started making calculated roams, my influence skyrocketed. This often led to early 'RANK PROMOTION!' opportunities, pushing me towards my goals. Champion pool and matchups are also vital. Don't just pick what's "meta" if you're not comfortable. Play champions you know inside out, but also understand how they interact with different enemy compositions. Sometimes, picking a disengage support against heavy dive, or an engage support when your team lacks initiation, can turn the tide. I learned to adapt my picks, and it felt like I was finally playing chess, not just checkers. Finally, the mental game. This is probably the hardest part. It's easy to get frustrated after a bad game or a losing streak. I found that taking short breaks, muting toxic chat, and focusing only on my performance helped immensely. Every game, win or lose, was a learning opportunity. I'd review my gameplay, especially the losses, to pinpoint where I could have done better. This journey felt like beating mini-bosses in my "GAMES BEATEN 2025" list, each win pushing me closer to my goal. Remember, every little improvement adds up to that big climb. Keep learning, stay positive, and you'll break that Platinum plateau in no time!
