🌿 Guided Practice — Healing with Your Children

Sit with presence.

Take a deep breath.

Feel your feet on the ground.

Feel your heart open and steady.

Now imagine your children standing before you.

Young or already adults.

Exactly as they are today.

Observe each one with respect.

Without projection.

Without expectation.

Just see them.

Breathe…

And say with grounded love:

“I am the big one.

You are the little ones.

Life came through me…

and that places us in an order that time does not erase.

If at any time I placed on you burdens that were not yours,

expectations that did not belong to you,

or pains that were mine,

today I take them back.

I take responsibility for what is mine.

And I return to you only what belongs to your own story.”

Breathe…

Continue:

“You do not need to save me.

You do not need to live to please me.

You do not need to compensate for anything for me.

I see you.

I accept you exactly as you are.

With your choices.

With your differences.

With your own way of walking through life.

You came through me,

but you belong to life.

I honor the destiny of each of you.

I remain in my place…

as foundation, as origin, as love.

And I allow you to be my children.”

Now imagine looking at them with calm strength.

Not above.

Not below.

But firmly in your place.

If you wish, softly say:

“I trust the strength that lives within you.

And I move forward in peace.”

See everyone breathing more freely.

Place your hand on your heart.

And finish by saying:

“Love flows again in the right order.

I sustain life.

You move forward.”

This guided practice encourages embracing your children exactly as they are—whether young or adults—and releasing any inherited burdens or unrealistic expectations. One key insight I found helpful is the importance of accepting that your children do not need to fix or save you. When we allow them to live their own stories and make their own choices, it creates space for healthy growth and individuality. It is about remaining the steady foundation while giving them the freedom to be themselves. This balance of grounded love and respect is what nurtures healing. The letter of forgiveness and healing, like the practice shared above, can be a therapeutic tool. Writing or softly speaking words of acknowledgment to your children helps to mend subtle wounds that often go unspoken. The practice of taking responsibility for what belongs to us and returning to children only what is theirs clears emotional entanglements and releases unnecessary weight from family dynamics. I also noticed that visualizing your children calmly and with strength—not as above or below but equal in their own right—strengthens the sense of peace. Combining this visualization with breathwork helps everyone breathe more freely and rest in the flow of love restored in the right order. If you try this at home, consider making it a regular ritual to connect with your children on this deep level. It does not have to be perfect or lengthy; even a few moments of mindful presence combined with these affirmations can enhance the relationship significantly. Healing is a journey we walk together, and through gentle acknowledgment and forgiveness, we build a lasting foundation for love and acceptance.
