Renter Friendly Kitchen DIY 🏡🔨

You don’t have to be renting to do this DIY! 🧲

✨BACKGROUND✨

I was strolling through the Dollar Store and I stopped at the photo frames and I remembered a post I saw where someone had just taken frames and added magnets to the back and used them to hang pictures on their fridge.

I grabbed a few to do it and then I saw these floating shelves and thought to take this a step further!

I don’t like an overly cluttered fridge but I think this keeps the clean look while it adds a little character!

✨HOW TO✨

All you need to do is add some strong adhesive magnets to the back and you’re good to go! I found these on Amazon! 💻

They also have the shelves in white! 🤍

The Dollar Tree also has the perfect small decor piece to add 🪴

🩷Let me know in the comments if you’re thinking of doing this or if you’re using the shelves in another way! 🩷

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you loved the magnetic fridge DIY – it truly changed my kitchen vibe without breaking the bank or my lease! But guess what? There's so much more we can do to zhuzh up a rental kitchen without making permanent changes. I've been experimenting with more Dollar Tree finds and renter-friendly hacks, and I'm excited to share some of my favorites! First off, let's talk about countertop magic. If your countertops are looking a bit tired, peel-and-stick contact paper is a game-changer! You can find it in so many patterns – marble, wood grain, or even plain colors. It's removable, so no worries about damaging the surface when you move out. I used a wood-grain one on a small section of my counter, and it instantly made the space feel more upscale. Just be careful with heat! Next, cabinet and drawer organization is key, especially in smaller rental kitchens. Dollar Tree has these amazing small baskets and bins that are perfect for wrangling spices, tea bags, or cleaning supplies under the sink. No drilling, no fuss – just instant tidiness! For drawers, I love using bamboo drawer dividers (you can often find these at discount stores too) to keep utensils and gadgets organized. It makes cooking so much more enjoyable when everything has its place. And what about those blank walls? "Kitchen frames art" is a fantastic way to add personality. Instead of nails, use Command strips! They come in various strengths, so you can hang anything from light frames to heavier decorative pieces. I've even seen people create a gallery wall with small Dollar Tree frames filled with printables or even photos of their favorite recipes. It's a quick and easy way to personalize your space. Speaking of practical decor, remember that useful "kitchen conversions board" you often see? You can buy or DIY one and hang it with Command hooks or even lean it against the backsplash. It's a functional piece that also adds a rustic or charming touch, and it's totally renter-friendly. For extra storage, consider freestanding solutions. A small rolling cart can be a lifesaver for pantry overflow, coffee stations, or even as a movable island. I found a cute one secondhand and painted it to match my decor – instant glam! And don't forget about adding some greenery. Faux plants from Dollar Tree or a local nursery can brighten up any corner. Finally, don't underestimate the power of textiles and lighting. New dish towels, a colorful rug, or even a sheer curtain can dramatically change the feel of your kitchen. For lighting, if you don't have under-cabinet lights, battery-operated puck lights are brilliant. They stick on, provide great task lighting, and create a cozy ambiance in the evenings. These little changes truly add up to a "renter friendly before and after rental kitchen makeover" that you'll love coming home to, all without losing your security deposit! What other budget-friendly kitchen hacks have you tried?

Renter-Friendly Trick to Replace Vertical Blinds
Vertical blinds are basically a design sin. I’ve lived in enough rentals to know the struggle - they’re outdated, break easily, and somehow always manage to make a space feel less cozy. But I finally found a way to ditch them without drilling or breaking any rental rules. This trick is super ea
