A series of alleged retail thefts at shopping centers in Pensacola has resulted in the arrests of four people whom investigators say worked together to steal merchandise and defeat store security systems.
According to authorities, Michael Bowie, Kevin Pittman, Jatoria Archie, and Tevara Bonner were arrested following an investigation into multiple retail robberies at commercial businesses in Pensacola, Florida.
Investigators allege the group operated in a coordinated manner, targeting stores and stealing merchandise valued at more than $750.
According to law enforcement, some of the suspects also allegedly used devices designed to bypass or disable anti-theft security systems, allowing merchandise to be removed without triggering store alarms.
Authorities said the arrests followed an investigation in which detectives identified the suspects and gathered evidence linking them to the reported thefts.
According to investigators:
* Michael Bowie is charged with retail theft of property valued at $750 or more and acting in a coordinated manner with others.
* Kevin Pittman is charged with retail theft of property valued at $750 or more and acting in a coordinated manner with others.
* Jatoria Archie is charged with retail theft of property valued at $750 or more, acting in a coordinated manner with others, and using an anti-theft device to facilitate the theft.
* Tevara Bonner was also arrested as part of the investigation. Authorities have identified Bonner as a suspect connected to the alleged retail theft operation.
Investigators continue to examine whether the group may be connected to additional retail thefts in the area.
