Mollie and Jeremy
These photos are all soft and happy, but I wanted to pause and talk more about Mollie.
Beginning of my main Hayes family intro post focuses on Jeremy past, so this felt like the right time to go deeper into Mollie’s story/past. Her parents had her as teens and chose to put her up for adoption. She was taken in by an older couple who loved her deeply — until they were killed in a car accident, leaving Mollie on her own again. This time, she wasn’t adopted.
After that, Mollie spent years drifting from couch to couch, staying with “friends” who only kept her around as long as she didn’t get in the way. They encouraged her drinking, dragging her out to clubs where they danced while Mollie mostly drank and watched. During the day, she worked a dead-end part-time job at the grocery store, and most nights her paycheck went toward whatever alcohol would get her drunk the fastest.
When she met Jeremy, things shifted — but not all at once. She was still working the same job and still drinking, but now her downtime was spent with someone who made her feel happy instead of like a burden. Jeremy never shamed her for her drinking or her homebody, loner tendencies. He chose her as she was.
Things moved fast after that. Within days she had moved in, and soon after they were engaged. Not long after the engagement, Mollie found out she was pregnant, and they decided to get married shortly after — before the baby was born.
For the first time, Mollie had stability… and someone who truly stayed.
