Just finished reading WICKED: The life and times of the Wicked Witch of The West, and all I have to say is this: WOW!!! Just WOW!!! I was enthralled and heartbroken by how Elphaba’s story was told from beginning to end, even if I knew how it would end(that being if you’re familiar with how the original Wizard of Oz plays out) This book, this story, is why I’m so excited whenever a classic tale gets an opportunity to get reimagined or expanded upon for the next generation, especially if that said classic tale is in the public domain! Because that way, the artist, can create and interpret the story’s world and characters in ways that we wouldn’t normally deem possible! But hey! That’s what I love about the world of storytelling so much!! Creative exploration, expression, and experimentation baby!!
(Also, for those who don’t know, this book is NOT, I repeat NOT for children!!)
