Do you miss them? Or just the beginning......

Do you actually miss them, or do you miss how it felt in the beginning?

Because those are not the same thing.

You keep saying you miss them, but what you’re really replaying is the version of them that showed up, the effort, the consistency, the way it felt easy before anything got complicated.

That’s what your mind is attached to.

Not how it feels now. Not the confusion. Not the distance.

If you were fully honest with yourself, you’d see you’re not trying to get them back—you’re trying to get that feeling back.

And when that feeling changed… you didn’t leave.

You adjusted.

You gave more, stayed longer, became more patient, tried to understand what shifted, like if you just did it right, it would go back to how it was.

But here’s where people get stuck.

You didn’t stay because it felt right.

You stayed because you were trying to fix the feeling.

And the shadow in this?

It’s the part of you that learned to stay when something stopped choosing you.

The part that equates effort with love. The part that believes if you just hold on a little longer, it will go back to how it was.

Because if you really saw that clearly… you’d understand why it’s so hard to let go.

And it has nothing to do with love.

I speak what I become. Healing is around the corner—you just have to keep walking 💜🙏🏻

Comment CLARITY and come back for Part 2 tomorrow

4/27 Edited to

... Read moreReflecting on my own experiences with relationships, I realized that the struggle to let go isn't always about the person—it’s often about the emotions tied to those early days. When a relationship starts, everything feels effortless and filled with hope. We’re hooked on that feeling of attention, consistency, and connection. But when things change—when effort diminishes and confusion grows—it’s natural to try harder instead of accepting the shift. From personal experience, chasing that initial feeling can create a cycle of push and pull that leaves your heart exhausted. You find yourself questioning what went wrong and whether you missed a chance to fix the relationship. It’s important to recognize that staying in that limbo stems from a desire for stability, not necessarily love. Healing begins when you acknowledge this distinction. You’re not failing because you want to hold on; you’re human because your mind is wired to seek safety and comfort. By shifting focus from trying to fix feelings to understanding your own needs, you gain clarity and self-respect. This journey isn’t easy—there are moments when old memories and emotions resurface, tempting you to believe in a return to what was. The key is to keep moving forward, embracing growth and self-love. Surrounding yourself with supportive people, journaling your emotions, and perhaps most importantly, allowing time to heal helps rebuild your sense of self outside the relationship’s context. Remember, the real love you seek starts with you. The feeling of being chosen, valued, and secure must be found within first before it can flourish with someone else. Don’t mistake effort alone for love, and don’t stay just because something once felt comforting. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is to walk away and open the door to new beginnings and healing.

I feel like communication is such a tall order these days. we all feel like we need to beat around the bush, be indirect, not say how we really feel, and I think this leads to the majority of problematic relationships or us just simply getting hurt. these are some great questions to really understa

missing them doesn’t mean you should go back 🤍
Healing isn’t always loud. Sometimes emotional healing looks like missing someone… but still choosing yourself. It’s learning to sit in your own space, finding inner peace, and realizing that letting go doesn’t mean you didn’t care— it means you’re growing. You can miss them and still m
