Why I Write

And how I heal myself through it ✨

Writing has always been my passion.

It’s my peace.

It’s how I breathe, release, and remind myself that healing is possible—through every word.

I started writing and publicly releasing my work on Wattpad back in 2013, tucked away in my high school bedroom, pouring my heart into fanfictions. That’s where I found my voice… even if I didn’t fully know it yet. Over time, I stopped writing just what others wanted to read—and started writing what I needed to see.

📖 Now, I create love stories that center plus-size women like me.

Real women—with curves, confidence, softness, and strength—falling for men who love them entirely. Not in spite of their bodies, but because of them too.

These stories are about being chosen. Desired. Cherished.

They’re the kind of romances I’ve always craved—and now I write them into the world unapologetically.

Whether it’s Midnight Love or Blood & Honey, every chapter is a piece of me.

And if you’ve ever felt overlooked, underestimated, or like love stories weren’t written with you in mind—just know, I’m writing for you, too.

🖋️ Drop a 💕 if you’re writing your own story whether it be on the page or in real life. And tag a writer or reader friend who gets it 💌

... Read moreWriting can be more than just a hobby or profession; it can be a powerful form of healing and self-expression. For many authors like Breann Renae, writing is a way to process emotions, find peace, and craft narratives that reflect their true selves. In the realm of plus-size romance, authors challenge traditional beauty norms by centering stories around characters who embody confidence, softness, and strength. These stories do more than entertain—they provide representation for readers who may feel overlooked or unheard in mainstream media. Featuring protagonists who are cherished and desired for who they are, not despite their bodies but because of them, creates a sense of belonging and affirmation. Additionally, platforms like Wattpad allow writers to share their journey from humble beginnings—such as writing fanfiction in a bedroom during high school—into publishing authentic stories that resonate with a larger audience. This journey reflects the emotional authenticity present in the excerpt where vulnerability and safety are expressed through evocative dialogue like, “You're safe now, mi amor.” This phrase beautifully captures the essence of trust and emotional healing that romantic stories can provide. For readers and writers alike, embracing and celebrating one’s identity through literature can be transformative. Whether crafting new chapters of life on the page or living their personal stories, many find that storytelling offers a unique blend of empowerment and catharsis. If you are a writer or a reader, engaging with communities like #plussizewriter, #wattpadauthor, or #blackgirlwriters can help foster connections with others who understand the importance of diverse narratives. Writing and reading these stories invite us all to witness and cherish love and strength in all forms, helping to heal not just the author but also the hearts of many readers worldwide.
