this kid.. we’ve known each other since the 7th grade, we’ve had multiple talking stages and we tried to date in high school (we lasted three days because of how awkward our friends were making it). We went to winter formal together, and that was a mess… such a big mess that we stopped talking for 6 years… we both thought the other hated us lol 😂 (he ended up leaving school a month after winter formal for medical reasons, which is kinda funny because a year after he left for medical reasons, i ended up leaving for medical reasons, he was just able to get his figured out lol)
We recently started talking again after finding out one of our classmates died in a motorcycle crash.
Our friend group (which is honestly almost the same as it was back in high school) keeps saying that we’re obviously dating… but are we?? I mean he’s obviously like my bestie and we do hang out a lot but like we’re friends, i don’t know 🤷🏽♀️ but i’m confused sometimes lol. I’ve never dated and he is like the only person i’ve ever had anything with so i’m just along for the ride lol and i don’t want to look to much into it and get my hopes up.

It's those little, everyday acts of care that blur the lines between friendship and something deeper, leaving you wondering, 'well, you should probably eat... but why did he say it like that?' It’s like we're all navigating this unspoken rulebook in the talking stage or with a guy best friend. When someone tells you something like 'You should probably eat,' it's not just about food. It's about them noticing you, caring about your well-being, maybe even knowing your habits better than you realize. It's a subtle way of saying, 'Hey, I'm thinking about you.' And honestly, sometimes those subtle gestures feel way more intimate than a grand declaration, precisely because they're woven into the fabric of daily life. And it's not just about food. It's confusing, exhilarating, and a little terrifying all at once, isn't it? But sometimes, those little phrases are the biggest indicators of where someone's heart truly is, signaling a connection that goes beyond just friendship.
