What I pack in my hospital bag (Round 2) ✨

Packing for the second baby hits different. The first time, I packed like I was moving into the hospital. I recently delivered at KKH, and after doing it all over again, I’ve figured out what’s a total lifesaver and what’s just taking up space.

————————————————————————————

🏆 The "Can't Live Without" List

The Taobao Sanitary Panty Pads 👏: Okay, if you buy one thing, let it be these. I spent months researching on 小红书 to find the best ones, and they were worth every cent. The hospital provides disposable undies and sanitary pads, but they aren't the most comfortable. These were high-quality, secure, and a total game-changer for recovery.

The Big Claw Clip 🦀: Since I was waiting to get home to shower with my confinement herbs, my hair got oily fast. Clipping it all up and out of the way was the only way to feel human.

A Solid Water Bottle 💧: KKH provides a flask with refills, but having my own bottle made it so much easier to stay hydrated without constantly pouring from the flask.

Long Charger ⚡: Because the bed is never as close to the outlet as you want it to be!

Discharge Outfits 👗: One cute "going home" set for me, and a fresh outfit + swaddle for the little one.

————————————————————————————

🙅‍♀️ What Stayed in the Bag

Lactation Cookies: I packed them thinking I’d be snacking away—didn't even eat one!

Body Wipes: I brought my own, but KKH actually provides these, so you can save the luggage space.

Disposable Undies: I kept them as a "just in case" backup, but because the sanitary panty pads were so good, I never touched them.

————————————————————————————

🍼 The Breast Pump Debate

As a second-time mom, I decided to leave my pump at home. I’m already familiar with how mine works, so I didn't need the extra bulk. However, if this is your first time, I highly recommend bringing yours!

————————————————————————————

The Bottom Line: Every mama is different, but for my second go-around, comfort and sleep were my top priorities.

What's the one thing you can't live without in your hospital bag? Let me know! 👇

... Read morePacking for a second delivery definitely brings a new perspective compared to the first time. As I found out from my own experience at KKH, prioritizing comfort and practicality can simplify your hospital stay immensely. One item I swear by now are the Taobao sanitary panty pads. After scouring user reviews on 小红书 and testing them myself, they proved far superior to the standard disposable undies and pads provided by the hospital, offering better comfort and security during recovery. It’s amazing how such a small difference can improve those early postpartum days. Another lifesaver is having a reliable hair clip, like a big claw clip, to keep hair out of your face. Waiting until you get home to shower with special confinement herbs might cause your hair to feel greasy, and keeping it clipped up can help you feel fresher and more comfortable. I also brought my own sturdy water bottle, which made hydration easier than constantly refilling the hospital flask. Staying hydrated is crucial for recovery and milk production, so having your own easy-access bottle really helps. From experience, long charging cables are a simple but overlooked item. Hospital beds rarely sit right next to power outlets, and a long charger cable keeps your phone handy without being tethered awkwardly. Packing discharge outfits for both mama and baby is another highlight. Having a cute “going home” outfit for yourself along with a fresh set and a swaddle for baby can make leaving the hospital feel special and prepared. Interestingly, I found some typical items like lactation cookies and body wipes unnecessary, as I didn’t use the cookies at all and the hospital provided body wipes, saving luggage space. Finally, whether to bring a breast pump depends on your familiarity and preferences. For first-timers, it’s often a comfort to have the pump ready. For second-timers like me, the extra bulk wasn’t needed, knowing exactly how to handle breastfeeding. Overall, packing light but smart, focusing on comfort, and learning from real mom reviews can turn a stressful hospital stay into a smoother, more comfortable postpartum experience. What’s your must-have item for the hospital bag? Feel free to share tips that helped you on your journey!

Yes… I really dragged a small luggage with me to the hospital 🤭 Better to be safe than sorry! By 37 weeks, make sure your bag is ready — you never know when baby decides it’s “time”! As a clueless first-time mama, I didn’t know what to pack. After asking around and doing lots of homework, here’s

Hospital bag for natural birth
You really don’t need a lot of stuff when packing for your hospital stay because the hospital either provides it or you just don’t have any use for it as you would be spending most of the time in labour or sleeping. For context, I gave birth naturally at KKH and stayed 3D2N in a class A ward. H
