The “Tired-Wired” Paradox
Ever been so exhausted that your body is screaming for sleep, but your brain decides it’s the perfect time to host a TED Talk on everything under the sun? It’s the most frustrating cycle. Your bones feel heavy, your eyes are burning, and you’re physically spent—but the second the lights go out, the "Anxiety Engine" starts humming. It’s like my brain interprets "overtired" as "danger." Instead of drifting off, I’m stuck replaying minor social slip-ups, worrying about what the future holds, calculating exactly how many hours of sleep I’ll get if I fall asleep right now (which, surprise, just makes it harder to sleep) so that I can be present with and for my family the next day. Anxiety makes the silence so loud. It’s that 3:00 AM hyper-awareness where every tiny thought feels like a giant crisis.
Sending some love to anyone else staring at their ceiling right now. May our brains eventually find the "off" switch. 🕯️💤
