I also noticed morning puffiness and digestive discomfort, which I later understood as signs of chronic inflammation linked to prolonged stress responses. The body, thinking it's under threat, holds onto fat and energy reserves as a survival tactic. This isn't about willpower or self-blame but about addressing the root cause: managing stress and supporting hormonal balance. What truly helped me was incorporating stress-reduction techniques consistently: mindfulness meditation, gentle movement like yoga, and ensuring adequate restorative sleep. Adjusting nutrition to reduce inflammatory foods and support gut health was another key step. Most importantly, I learned to listen to my body's signals rather than blaming myself when things didn't improve instantly. If you've felt stuck as I once did—constantly battling fatigue, weight that won’t budge, and restless nights—know that your body isn't broken. It's signaling a need for change, and there is a path forward. Understanding and managing cortisol can unlock your body's ability to heal, recover, and regain balance.
