First, our vet says she’s definitely more like 5 months. So she’s even younger than we thought. She is having surgery this week to amputate her leg and spay her. Her leg is not viable and her paw is too far injured to be fixed. I appreciate that people want everything possible done to help her leg not be amputated, but it’s not an option. She has some shoulder movement but her shoulder is also injured. If two vets and a surgeon think amputation will help her pain and get her on the right track, that’s the decision we’re making. I’ve had so many kind and reassuring comments and I can’t tell you how helpful those are!
