I’ve been a long-time fan of Disney World’s Spring Dapper Day, attending for over six years straight, so it’s definitely strange to miss it this time around. This year, I’m excited to experience something different by volunteering with a cast member friend out in California, helping with "Mickey’s Morning Mayhem"—a lively event similar to what I’ve known at Disney World. What makes this year extra special is getting to attend Bats Day at Disneyland, also known as Goth Day, where the park fills with festive black-clad guests celebrating gothic culture. It’s one of those unique Disney experiences you won’t find every day, and even though I’ve missed Dapper Day, I’m thrilled to explore this alternative fan community and its style. Additionally, Universal Studios Hollywood’s FanFest nights are another highlight for me. From April 23 to May 16, selected nights offer a magical way to experience attractions like the Harry Potter World and get a peek at new content creations I haven’t yet shared. As someone who’s a local from Orlando but hasn’t had the chance to visit Universal’s Epic Universe or Mario World yet, this trip feels like opening a new chapter in my theme park adventures. If you’re a Dapper Day or Disney fan feeling the FOMO, I suggest expanding your horizons by attending complementary events in other parks or regions. Events like these offer fresh experiences, new friends, and the chance to volunteer, giving back to the community and creating even richer memories. For those preparing their outfits and wondering what fits the theme for Bats Day at Disneyland, think elegant gothic fashion mixed with fun and flair—lots of black, intricate details, and a celebration of alternative styles. It’s a festive scene that truly "blacks out the park" in the best way. Finally, whether you’re headed to Disney World, Disneyland, or Universal Studios, my biggest advice is to embrace the joy of these gatherings and the people you meet. These special fan events are about more than just the parks—they’re about community, creativity, and celebrating what makes each event uniquely wonderful.
