... Read moreFilming in public is always a unique experience, especially when the streets or parks don’t clear like you’d expect! From personal experience, one of the biggest challenges is embracing the unpredictability of the crowd. No matter how much you plan, the “public” will almost always be there, whether you like it or not. Over time, I’ve learned that instead of getting frustrated, it helps to use the energy of the environment to your advantage. For instance, ambient noise and passersby reactions can add authenticity to your videos, making them feel more real and relatable for your audience. It’s also a good idea to scout locations at different times of the day to find quieter moments or to experiment with angles and framing that minimize distractions. If you’re filming solo, consider using a tripod with a remote shutter or a phone holder that keeps your hands free, so you can focus on engaging with the camera instead of worrying about the setup. Moreover, engaging with people around you—if appropriate—can turn into creative opportunities. Sometimes, a stranger’s curious glance or a playful reaction can be captured on camera, adding a fun dynamic that scripted content often lacks. Just remember to be respectful and aware of privacy when filming in public spaces. Lastly, practicing patience is key. Each time I film outside, it’s a new learning curve. The more you do it, the more comfortable you become in adapting to unexpected scenarios. So if you’re still mastering filming outdoors, keep at it—you’ll find your flow and gain confidence filming 'when the public is outside!' Hope these tips help fellow content creators keep calm and create amazing content, no matter the crowd around! #contentcreator #contentcreationtips #filminginpublic
