have you ever stopped and taken inventory of all you carry—only to quietly wonder how much of it is truly aligned with what God created you for?
or maybe you’ve felt the pressure to find your purpose. the world tells us it’s something to chase, achieve, and master—but in God’s economy, purpose isn’t something you strive to grasp; it’s something you already carry. it doesn’t start with what you do—it begins with Whose you are.
before you took your first breath, the Father knit you together with intention (psalm 139:13). He designed you uniquely—not just with a calling, but with relationship in mind. true purpose is found in intimate union with Him.
proverbs 19:21 reminds us, “many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
the things we pour our time into—career, family, friendships—are meaningful, but they were never meant to define us. at the core, our greatest purpose is to know Him and walk with Him. it’s from that place of intimacy with the Lord that everything begins to align.
take a moment to sit with the Lord. ask Him to speak to you about your purpose and the relationship you share. write down what He reveals, and allow His words to shape how you see yourself and what He’s called you to.
your purpose isn’t a finish line to reach—it’s a life lived in ever-deepening intimacy with Him.

... Read moreJournaling has been a transformative tool for me in uncovering and embracing my purpose as designed by God. When I started regularly reflecting on Psalm 139:13 and Proverbs 19:21, I realized my identity and calling are deeply interconnected with my relationship with the Lord—not just my daily activities or achievements.
Taking quiet moments to sit and write honestly about what I carry and how it aligns with God’s design has helped me release the pressure of chasing purpose as a distant goal. Instead, I see purpose as a living journey, one that grows as I deepen intimacy with Him. This shift in perspective changed how I view setbacks and successes; they no longer define me but are parts of a larger story guided by divine intent.
Also, journaling prompts focused on purpose have encouraged me to listen more attentively for God’s voice, which often speaks through subtle thoughts or feelings that emerge during writing. Writing down these revelations helps me internalize and act on them. It’s empowering to witness how purposeful living unfolds naturally when rooted in faith and relationship, rather than striving or comparison.
For anyone feeling lost or overwhelmed by the pressure to find their place in the world, I highly recommend using journaling as a spiritual practice. Pray before writing, ask God to reveal your true purpose, and let those revelations shape your understanding of yourself and your path. It’s an ongoing, life-giving process that brings peace and clarity beyond simply knowing what to do—it reveals who you are, knitted together with divine intention.
