Anyone else used to hate their own reflection?

It hasn't easy learning to become my own best friend. But I have come a long way and I know there are a lot of people put their with similiar struggles as mine.

So I started putting my poetry out into the world to help others feels seen and support their healing journey.

If you've struggled to love yourself and see your full worth I imagine we have a lot in common.

Sending you so much love and wishing you kinder more peaceful thoughts 💜🫂

... Read moreLearning to love yourself and accept your reflection is a powerful and deeply personal journey. Many of us have experienced moments of harsh self-criticism and discomfort with our image in the mirror. What helped me was realizing that the negative thoughts I had were not permanent truths but conditioned responses shaped by past experiences and societal messages. Starting to speak kindly to myself, much like I would to a dear friend, gradually shifted my perspective. Poetry has been an incredible tool in this healing process. Writing and reading poems that speak to struggles with body image, chronic illness, and self-worth create a sense of shared experience and validation. It's comforting to know others have faced similar battles and found pathways to peace. Another key step was to stop treating suffering as something I deserved. Often, the mind tricks us into believing that pain is our natural state or that we don’t deserve happiness. This attitude only prolongs inner conflict. I had to consciously tell myself, “We deserve better than this,” and truly believe it. This mindset helped me soften my internal resistance and welcome healing. If you’ve felt at war within yourself, know you are not alone. Becoming your own ally means giving yourself honest breaks and permission to heal at your own pace. It’s about releasing shame and embracing your unique journey toward self-love. This process isn’t linear, and it takes courage to surrender to kindness and compassion, especially when old habits urge you to doubt your worth. Finally, surrounding yourself with supportive communities or creative outlets like healing poetry can nurture self-acceptance. Sharing your story or art might inspire others and also reinforce your own healing. Remember, healing is possible, and so is peace with your reflection.
