Read this if you’re always tired, always thinking and never fully relaxed

6/29 Edited to

... Read moreExperiencing constant tiredness and nonstop thoughts can be incredibly draining and confusing, especially when everything around you seems normal. From my own experience, realizing that this persistent mental exhaustion isn't just about being physically tired was a turning point. Anxiety often disguises itself in subtle ways — you might look calm and composed while your brain races with countless worries and scenarios. One key aspect I've noticed is the mental replay of conversations or decisions. You might find yourself going over every detail long after a meeting or social interaction, wondering if you sounded odd or annoying. This over-analysis is exhausting because it engages your mind beyond its normal capacity, often leading to a restless state where relaxation feels impossible. Another challenge is the overwhelming weight of small decisions. Simple choices such as what to wear or whether to go to an event can feel disproportionately stressful. This happens because overthinking multiplies the options and potential outcomes in your mind, making them seem bigger than they actually are. Moreover, preparing for worst-case scenarios—even those unlikely to happen—can sap your energy before any event takes place. Mental backup plans for backup plans drain your cognitive resources, leaving you feeling drained and anxious. What helped me significantly was recognizing that these signs are common among many who silently suffer from anxiety. Understanding that anxiety is not just emotional but also physical and mental helped me find self-compassion. Techniques like mindfulness, journaling, and setting clear limits on worry time have been game-changers. If you relate to any of these experiences, know that you're not alone. Sharing your feelings with trusted friends or seeking support from mental health professionals can be invaluable. Awareness is the first step toward regaining peace and truly relaxing your mind. Remember, the calm exterior doesn't always reflect the internal storm — and that's okay. Taking small steps every day to care for your mental health can make a significant difference in breaking the cycle of overthinking and exhaustion.
