My Mother

A mother to one is not the same to another.
To one it is the carrier,
To someone else they are a lover.
Someone who is an over protective barrier.
Everyone has their own definition
Of whom and what a mom is.
One women might find it a position,
Another might find it a woman who gives.
Some might find it necessary.
Another might find that to be a woman it’s not a need.
No matter what, it is not temporary.
Being a mother is never guaranteed.
Some of the best are denied
While some of the least capable are given it.
Some think it’s not their job to provide.
While some mothers quit,
My mother is a fighter.
She let this ignite her.
She took the title with pride and she turned two into three.
To other people a Mother means different thing but to me,
My mother is more than that.
She is who I look up to be.
She has made more than an impact.
She makes me believe when there's no hope.
She dries my tears,
through all the hard times she is there to help me cope.
No one can compare to the way she cares.
She’s filled the shoes of mom and dad.
She has shown me what it looks like to be independent.
She is there if I am mad or sad.
I am lucky to be her descendent!
She has taught me in ways only a mother can.
I learned to be kind no matter what.
I have learned I don’t need a man.
She has taught me words can cut.
She has shown me how to be strong.
She taught me the lesson of learning,
That it is okay if I am wrong.
I know she’ll always be there when I am hurting.
Even when there's no other,
She’ll always be the one I count on.
After all, she is my mother.
To my sister and I an icon.
She is a superhero who wears no cape.
She will always protect me regardless,
She shows me it's okay to make a mistake.
And I mean this all so harmless,
I am sure your mother is great.
But, my mother is everything anyone could dream of.
And maybe you can relate,
So you understand this love.
Nothing will ever compare,
To my mother and our bond.
Thank you for how much you care.
So dear mom I love you the moon and beyond.
What I have with her is rare.
