September 2025 Foster Kitten Wrap-Up

Fostering kittens is a deeply rewarding yet emotionally challenging experience. During my time fostering in September 2025, I learned firsthand about the unpredictability and joys that come with each new furry friend. The loss of Scarecrow was incredibly sad; moments like that remind me of the fragility of life and the importance of providing comfort and care while we can. On a brighter note, bringing Jack and Sally into the foster home brought such warmth and hope. Watching them grow, play, and eventually move into loving forever homes felt like a profound success. It reinforced how fostering can create meaningful impacts—not just saving lives, but also building cherished bonds. If you’re considering fostering kittens, it's essential to be prepared for the emotional ups and downs. Each kitten has its story, and some, unfortunately, face uphill battles, but others thrive with the right care and environment. It’s also beneficial to foster in pairs or groups when possible, as kittens often develop better social skills and comfort with companionship, just like Jack and Sally did. As I take a break from fostering through the last months of the year, I look forward to sharing more about my resident cats and reflecting on the entire year's fostering journey soon. It’s incredible to think about how many kittens have crossed my path this year, each leaving a paw print on my heart.
