CALLING ALL RUNNERS!!! SOS!!!
As a fellow runner, I understand the unexpected challenges that can arise mid-run, especially when dealing with conditions like dyslexia. Dyslexia doesn’t just affect reading—it can impact coordination, focus, and the ability to quickly process visual information, which is crucial during running. From my experience, two minutes into a run is often when I feel the most vulnerable to a 'crash,' where my focus scatters and my body feels out of sync. These moments can be frustrating, but acknowledging them is the first step to overcoming them. One strategy I’ve found helpful is to prepare mentally and physically before heading out, doing light mental exercises or mindfulness practices to sharpen my focus. Wearing the proper running gear that feels comfortable and doesn't require constant adjustment is also key. When you’re distracted by your equipment, it can exacerbate the feeling of losing control. I opt for simple, reliable running fits that minimize distractions. Most importantly, having a support system or a running buddy who understands your challenges can make a huge difference. Sharing your experience and progress not only motivates you but helps build a sense of community. Remember, these 'crashing out' moments are temporary, and with practice, you’ll find ways to turn them into strengths. Embrace each run as a journey to better self-love and resilience.
