Diary Entry - Week 1: Reset & Refocus🫶🏾
This past week has been a reminder that progress isn’t always linear, and that’s okay. I gained a few pounds back, but I’m not letting it discourage me. It’s a small setback, and I’m choosing to see it as a sign that it’s time to reset and refocus. I’m taking control of my journey and making a conscious decision to be kinder to myself along the way. “One day at a time.” That’s the mantra I’m keeping in mind this week. I’m resetting my mindset and giving myself the space to grow. Setbacks don’t define my journey—they’re just part of the process. Here’s to a week of small victories and big progress ahead.

It's so easy to feel discouraged when the scale doesn't move how you want, or even worse, goes up! I totally get it. This week, after seeing a slight gain, my first thought was, 'Ugh, all that effort for nothing?' But then I remembered my mantra: 'One day at a time.' Instead of letting that setback define my entire fitness journey, I decided to lean into the 'reset and refocus' mindset even harder. One thing that really helps me when I hit a bump is to get back to basics and reconnect with my 'why.' For me, it’s not just about the number on the scale; it’s about feeling strong, energetic, and confident. That's where those practical April fitness goals I set come into play. When I feel off track, I go back to checking off my daily intentions: hitting my 12,000 steps, prioritizing my hot girl walks, getting in my strength training, eating cleaner, and drinking my water. These small, consistent actions build up momentum and remind me that discipline truly is greater than motivation. Motivation comes and goes, but discipline keeps you showing up. Speaking of hot girl walks, if you haven't tried incorporating them into your routine, you absolutely should! They're not just about burning calories; they're about intentional movement. I put on my favorite podcast or a pump-up playlist, grab my headphones, and just move. It's amazing how much clearer my head feels afterward. It brings a sense of mindfulness and feel-good energy that spills over into the rest of my day, helping me make better choices. It's a simple way to boost both my physical and mental well-being, enhancing my confidence. When it comes to my diet, 'eating cleaner' doesn’t mean perfection. It means making conscious choices most of the time. This week, after my little setback, I focused on prepping healthy meals, keeping them balanced with protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs. I also made sure I had my pre-workout ready for my gym sessions and a healthy snack like a protein bar or a piece of fruit if I needed a quick energy boost. It's about fueling my body right, not depriving it. And strength training? It's been a game-changer! Lifting those barbells and pushing myself even when I'm tired reminds me of my inner strength. The visual progress, seeing my muscles get a little more defined, is incredibly motivating. It's not just about looking good; it's about what my body can *do*. This journey is all about progress, not perfection. Every workout, every healthy meal, every single step counts. Remember, setbacks are just redirections. Let's embrace them and keep moving forward on our progress journey together!
