THE PLATFORM 2 WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A LETDOWN. I WAS DEFINITELY HOPING FOR MORE THAN THIS. I GAVE IT A 6 OUT OF 10. COMMENT WHAT YOU THOUGHT. #theplatform #theplatform2 #netflix #netflixandchill #netflixmovies #moviereview #movierecommendation #foruoupage #foru
As a huge fan of the original 'The Platform,' my anticipation for 'The Platform 2' was sky-high. Like many, I was eagerly awaiting how the sequel would expand on the chilling premise and biting social commentary that made the first film so impactful. Unfortunately, after finally watching it, I have to agree with my initial gut feeling: it definitely wasn't what I thought it was going to be. The first 'Platform' movie hooked me with its unique, unsettling concept and its deep dive into human nature, class struggle, and survival. Every level of the prison offered a new perspective, and the raw, desperate performances truly resonated. It left me with so many questions and a lot to think about, which is exactly what I look for in a thought-provoking thriller. That's why, when the sequel was announced, I hoped for a continuation that would either explore new facets of the system, delve deeper into its origins, or perhaps offer a fresh, equally challenging perspective. I wanted it to do justice to the brilliant foundation laid by its predecessor. However, 'The Platform 2' felt like it missed an opportunity to truly elevate the story. While it retained some of the visual style and themes, the narrative didn't quite grasp the same level of originality or psychological depth. For me, it didn't quite capture the same intensity or deliver the unexpected twists that made the first film so compelling. It felt like it was treading on familiar ground without adding enough new layers to justify its existence as a standalone, necessary sequel. There were moments where I found myself wishing for the innovative storytelling that kept me on the edge of my seat in Part 1, but they didn't quite materialize as strongly. Many sequels struggle to live up to the high bar set by a groundbreaking original, and I think 'The Platform 2' falls into that category. It's not a terrible movie by any means, but when compared to the genius of the first, it just didn't do it justice. I gave it a 6 out of 10 because it still offers some thought-provoking ideas, and the premise is inherently interesting, but it simply didn't provide the same captivating experience. I was left wanting more, and feeling that the potential for a truly groundbreaking follow-up wasn't fully realized. What are your thoughts? Did you feel the same way, or did it exceed your expectations?
