NURSING SCHOOL AESTHETIC

Another semester down in my nursing journey! 🩺✨ Grateful for the growth, challenges, and wins along the way. One step closer to my dreams! šŸ’‰šŸ’Š #FutureNurse #SemesterComplete #NursingLife ā€

2024/12/14 Edited to

... Read moreWow, another semester of nursing school is officially in the books, and I'm still buzzing from the feeling of accomplishment! 🄳 It truly feels like just yesterday I was stressing over my Chapter 2 test, then Chapter 3, 5, and 7! Looking at those scores now—a 92% on Chapter 2, a perfect 100% on Chapter 3, 90% on Chapter 5, and 91% on Chapter 7—makes all the late nights worth it. You might be wondering how I managed to tackle those challenging nursing student computer exams and still maintain some semblance of a 'nursing school aesthetic.' Honestly, it's all about finding a balance and having a few go-to strategies. My 'aesthetic' isn't just about looking ready in my green scrubs and white jacket, often with my trusty pink bag and insulated cup by my side. It’s also about creating an inspiring study environment. My kitchen counter, with my laptop displaying a detailed nursing lecture on dosage calculations, alongside my notebook filled with handwritten notes on complex topics like human regional terms—cephalic, buccal, and gluteal—that's my true aesthetic! For those dreaded computer exams, especially when it comes to things like dosage calculations, my biggest tip is practice, practice, practice! I didn't just passively watch lectures. I made sure to actively engage with the material. For anatomy, understanding the visual diagrams of human regional terms was key. I'd redraw them, label them, and even quiz myself using flashcards. It’s not about rote memorization; it's about truly grasping the 'why' behind each concept. Another game-changer for my nursing study routine was breaking down large topics. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by an entire chapter, I'd focus on smaller sections. For example, when studying the human regional terms, I'd dedicate a block of time just to the head and neck (cephalic, buccal), then move on to the torso, and finally the lower limbs (gluteal, for example). This made the learning process much more manageable. And let's talk about those computer exams! They can be intimidating, but I found success by simulating exam conditions during my study sessions. I’d set a timer, use practice questions from various resources, and really try to understand why I got an answer right or wrong. Getting a 92% on Chapter 2 wasn't just luck; it was understanding where I made mistakes and learning from them. Achieving 100% on Chapter 3 felt incredible because I focused on mastering every detail. Beyond the academics, maintaining a positive mindset and a distinct 'student nurse aesthetic' helped me stay motivated. Sometimes, just putting on my scrubs even for a study session at home made me feel more focused and ready to tackle the material. It's about embodying the future nurse I'm striving to be, even when I'm just sitting with my notes on body cavities. This journey is challenging, but seeing my progress, semester after semester, truly fuels my dream of becoming a registered nurse. If I can do it, you can too!
