Professionalism is the only thing saving me rn

I just posted my Juneteenth tumblers on TikTok and THIS is my comment section…

As a Black-owned business, it’s frustrating how much we’re expected to just smile and keep it cute when people come at us sideways for simply existing and being proud of who we are.

I hate how often we have to hold our tongue just to protect our image.

But one thing I’ll never do is let someone’s ignorance ruin everything I’ve been building. So I’m keeping it professional, for now 🙄

But y’all? Feel free to do what y’all do best. 😂

How do you guys handle hate when you’re trying to stay professional?

... Read moreIn today's social media-driven world, Black-owned businesses often face unique challenges, especially during significant events like Juneteenth. These moments can serve as a platform for celebration but sadly can also attract negativity. To navigate this landscape, it’s essential to develop resilience and a strong support network. Engaging with your community online can allow you to share your experiences and find encouragement. Moreover, consider educating your audience about the importance of Juneteenth and its relevance to the Black community. Crafting messages centered on positivity and empowerment can inspire others and counteract hateful remarks. It's also vital to set boundaries regarding how you engage with critics—prioritizing self-care and mental well-being is key. By maintaining professionalism, you not only protect your brand but also pave the way for meaningful dialogues about race, culture, and entrepreneurship. Let your success speak volumes and encourage others to celebrate the diverse fabric of our society. The journey may be tough, but together, we can uplift and empower each other to thrive despite the challenges.
