A little older

It's so easy to postpone quality time with children, thinking there will be a better opportunity down the road. But childhood is fleeting, and those little moments—whether it’s playing a game, reading a bedtime story, or even navigating a tough day—define the years they will remember. I remember many days feeling exhausted or overwhelmed, yet those were the very days I pushed myself to engage with my kids. Sometimes it meant doing activities even when I felt too tired, or spending on experiences when my budget was tight. The joy and connection that came from those moments were priceless and can’t be replaced once those years pass. Parenting doesn’t come with guarantees, but the one truth is that children only get one childhood. Investing your time and love now builds strong bonds and lasting memories. Don't fall into the trap of "when they're older" because the truth is, when they do grow up, you’ll treasure every second you spent fully present. If you find yourself delaying, remember this simple truth: "They only have the one you give them." Embracing parenting with all its challenges and imperfections leads to fulfillment and a deep sense of gratitude. So, whether tired, broke, or busy, do it anyway—your future self and your children will thank you.
