Agnes is having a bath upstairs today and then we're going to work in the office getting ready for her anniversary auction! I know what she really wants for her anniversary is more time with me, snacks, and blankets in no particular order. Alas, to spend time with me she's going to have to help plan her own anniversary fundraiser or you know at least sit on the couch while I work.
Her anniversary auction will be held in our Facebook group at the link below. If goes from November 1st to November 9th and we should have all sorts of things from weird, to valuable, to beavery, to shiny. Definitely join the group!

Anniversary auctions like the one Agnes is hosting provide a fantastic opportunity to find unique items that you won’t see anywhere else. These events usually showcase a wide range of goods, from rare collectibles to handmade crafts and quirky finds that add personality to your collection. Participating in such auctions not only supports the organizer—in this case, Agnes’s anniversary fundraiser—but also connects you with a community of people who share your interests. If you’ve never taken part in a Facebook group auction before, here’s a quick guide to get started: first, join the dedicated Facebook group where the auction will be held. Check the auction rules and schedule to know exactly when items will be posted and how to place your bids. Remember, bids are typically placed via comments on the auction post, so keep an eye on the updates to stay ahead. Also, don’t hesitate to ask questions directly in the group; auction communities are often welcoming and eager to help newcomers. Beyond the thrill of winning, these auctions can be a great way to discover stories behind each item, as many sellers or contributors share background information that adds sentimental or historical value. Plus, auctions with a mix of ‘weird, valuable, beavery, and shiny’ items as Agnes described, make browsing exciting and full of surprises. To make the most of the event, set a budget for yourself to avoid overbidding, and explore beyond your usual interests—sometimes the most unexpected items become your favorite treasures. Finally, participating in the event can be a wonderful way to support local causes or individuals, building a sense of community and shared celebration. Don’t forget snacks, blankets, and a comfy spot on your couch to enjoy the auction thrill from home—just like Agnes’s wish for her anniversary. Happy bidding and enjoy the unique finds at Agnes’s anniversary auction!
