Weight lifting tips for beginners ✍🏼

I truly love the wave of everybody getting more active in the gym. Especially the girlies who are not afraid to pick up the weights. I really hate the myth that was created that lifting weights will make you look manly or bulky. Unless that is your goal that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I’ve been lifting weights since high school and have been actively on my fitness journey for the past 5 years. And I still very much look walk and talk just like a woman. 😂😂😂

Should I keep these going? What other tips do you need to make you feel more comfortable lifting weights?

... Read moreEmbarking on your fitness journey with weight lifting can be both exciting and intimidating, especially for beginners. Understanding foundational principles is key to maximizing results while minimizing the risk of injury. One of the foremost guidelines is to **always focus on form first**. Practicing movements without weights allows you to master techniques before advancing to heavier lifts. This approach not only builds a strong foundation but also enhances performance in the long run. Structuring your workouts properly is crucial for effective training. Beginners should aim for about **5-6 exercises**, with **3-4 sets of 8-12 repetitions** for each. This variety prevents adaptation and encourages muscle growth. Similarly, prioritizing **rest** is essential; don't overlook the importance of taking breaks between sets and incorporating dedicated rest days into your routine to facilitate recovery and boost progress. Additionally, mental preparation and the right mindset play significant roles in weight lifting success. Remember, it's about progress, not perfection. Celebrate small victories and listen to your body. As you continue your journey, consider joining fitness communities or groups, both online and offline, where you can share tips, ask questions, and uplift each other in a supportive environment. With these guidelines in mind, you can approach weight lifting confidently and enjoyably. Embrace the journey, stay consistent, and watch as you transform both physically and mentally!
