... Read moreOkay, so you've seen the stunning Garden of the Gods – it's truly a masterpiece, right? But trust me, Colorado Springs has so much more waiting for you! As someone who absolutely loves exploring this area, I've put together a few more must-do activities that will make your trip unforgettable, whether you're looking for adventure, history, or just incredible views. First up, you HAVE to experience Pikes Peak, 'America's Mountain.' Driving to the summit is breathtaking, but for a unique adventure, try the Pikes Peak Cog Railway! The views from the top are absolutely phenomenal – you can see for miles. Just remember to bring layers, even in summer, as it gets chilly up there! Right next door, don't miss the charming town of Manitou Springs. It's famous for its natural mineral springs, each with a different taste and supposed health benefits. Grab a cup and try a few! The town itself is super quirky with unique boutiques, art galleries, and delicious eateries. It’s perfect for an afternoon stroll and finding some one-of-a-kind souvenirs. For a dose of underground wonder, head to Cave of the Winds Mountain Park. Taking a guided tour through these ancient caves is fascinating – the formations are incredible! If you're feeling brave, they also have some thrilling attractions like the Terror-dactyl and the Canyon Rim Zip Line, offering incredible canyon views and an adrenaline rush. Animal lovers, you're in for a treat at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. What makes it special? It's America's only mountain zoo! The hillside exhibits mean amazing views of the city below, and you can even feed giraffes up close. It’s a fantastic experience for families and offers a unique perspective on wildlife conservation. And for another natural wonder, check out Broadmoor Seven Falls. These magnificent waterfalls cascade down a 181-foot cliff. You can take an elevator up to an observation deck or, if you're up for it, climb the 224 steps right next to the falls for even more spectacular views. It’s a truly serene and beautiful spot. A little tip from my trips: Colorado weather can change quickly, so always pack layers. And hydrate lots! The altitude here is no joke. Many attractions, especially during peak season, benefit from booking tickets online in advance to save time. Enjoy your Colorado Springs adventure – it's truly a gem!
