🌿 Mandala... a little circle that reflects the world inside us.

Today, I picked up the color book. Actually, this book was bought many years ago because I read a book by Carl Mosquito talking about Mandala, so I wanted to find some to try it. To practice meditation and learn the inner world. When finished, I noticed the difference of the two pages, both colors and patrons (on the right side we painted many years ago, on the left side just drained today), so I thought about the mandala. 🎨

Maybe what we "drain on paper" isn't just color, it's "what we are inside" unconsciously.

🌀 What is a mandala?

The word "mandala" comes from Sanskrit, meaning "circle" or "center." In Eastern cultures, mandala symbolizes balance, oneness, and "the universe within us."

It often has a pattern that spreads out of the center.

Like our lives slowly spreading away from the "inner self."

🧠 What's with the mosquito, Carl?

Carl Jung is a Swiss psychiatrist who founded Analytical Psychology. He discovered that many patients "draw their own mandalas" without an appointment and do not even know what they are, so mosquitoes believe that mandalas are not just beautiful patterns, but "reflections of the mind trying to organize itself."

He saw mandalas as associated with the so-called Self, and drawing mandalas is the process by which the mind tries to "return to balance."

✏️ Easy way to draw your own mandala (you don't have to be good at art)

In fact, Mandala "has no fixed rules," but if you want to start on your own,

1️⃣ Start with the middle point, draw a small dot in the middle of the paper.

This is "ourselves."

2️⃣ draw a circle around it, you can use one or multiple layers, like an expansion of feelings.

3️⃣ Repeated patterns such as petals, curves, simple shapes, no need to think too much, let the hands "flow."

4️⃣ Coloring according to the mood. Don't ask, "Is this beautiful?"

"What color do we want to use now?"

As for us, we choose to buy a coloring book for adults that is commonly sold because it has many designs and is pretty good. 😅

Many people see it as just a "relaxing activity," which is true, but on the other hand, it is a light, unconscious meditation (not really conscious, sometimes after a few hours), because when we paint, we focus on the present, we quiet down and lighten the distraction.

🌿 So what does our picture say?

The most interesting thing is not that it is beautiful, but that it reflects how we change, as if we were saying that our hearts in each moment are not the same.

📎 read that Jung drew a lot of his mandalas during his life that he was exploring his deep mind, especially after his conceptual split with Sigmund Freud. He once wrote that every morning he would draw a small circle and find that it reflected his "inner state" that day.

🥰 In the end... Mandala is not just art, and it's not just painting, it's the short time we really enjoy ourselves.

In a world where it's noisy and everything is too fast, maybe sitting down, choosing a color and slowly draining it can be a simple way to get us back to ourselves. 🌼🌸🌳🦋
