There are days when I think I’m the one teaching Luca… and then he reminds me how much I still have to learn.
He has autism. He has a speech delay. And yet, when he has an idea or a dream, he isn’t sitting around wondering who might judge him. He asked me to help him do a live stream because he wanted to share something he loves.
Watching him reminds me how much fear we create as adults. We worry about what people will think, whether we’ll say the wrong thing, or if we’ll embarrass ourselves.
Luca just shows up.
He inspires me every dang day.
If he can be brave enough to keep putting himself out there, I can too. And I hope you’ll remember that the next time fear tries to convince you to stay silent.
Confidence like Luca. 💙
Living with an autistic child who has a speech delay has profoundly changed how I view confidence and fear. Luca’s example reminds me daily that the barriers we often feel are social constructs we can choose to break down. I have seen firsthand how fear of judgment can hold adults back, whether from speaking up, trying new things, or sharing passions. Yet, Luca doesn’t let these fears stop him. When he asked me to help him do a live stream to share something he loves, it wasn’t about perfection or approval—it was about expressing himself fully. This experience taught me that confidence isn’t about being flawless; it’s about showing up despite uncertainty. Watching Luca interact with the world, unapologetically and with joy, challenges me to face my own anxieties. It’s a potent reminder that sometimes the most courageous act is simply to be yourself and pursue what ignites your heart. If you ever struggle with self-doubt, remember Luca’s story: while adults often worry about being judged, this amazing boy chases his dreams with fearless determination. His journey is a beautiful example that inspires us to break free from fear's grip and embrace our true selves. Confidence like Luca’s is attainable by anyone willing to move past hesitation and take that first brave step.
