The Exes is was a slow burn during the beginning of the read. About the first 60 pages is just us getting to know her ex-boyfriends & how they betrayed her. It’s filled with deeply flawed characters, including Nat which personally I love. Goodie two shoes characters can be so repetitive. Not only does it involve her perspective, but also other characters as well.
The only thing I will criticize is that she’s telling a therapist that she thinks she’s murdered several of her ex-boyfriends. Like who goes a tells their therapist that?

Moreover, the novel’s use of multiple perspectives is refreshing. It’s not only Nat’s story but also viewpoints from other characters that flesh out the tangled relationships and mysteries. This technique keeps readers guessing about everyone’s true motives. For readers interested in thrillers that blend emotional depth with suspense, "The Exes" stands out by focusing on how unresolved past loves can turn dangerous.
