... Read moreOkay, fellow bookworms, you know that feeling when a fresh stack of books arrives and you just want to drop everything and dive in? That's exactly how I'm feeling right now after my latest book haul! I'm beyond excited to finally pick up my very first Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez novels. I've heard so much buzz, especially on BookTok, and I just couldn't resist.
Let's talk about Abby Jimenez first, since I know many of you are looking for her book order! While many of her books can be read as standalones, they often feature interconnected characters or shared universes, which is so fun. Her popular 'The Friend Zone' series includes *The Friend Zone*, *The Happy Ever After Playlist*, and *Life's Too Short*. While you can jump in anywhere, reading them in order lets you see characters from previous books pop up, which is a delightful surprise. My new read, *Part of Your World*, is a standalone, so it's a perfect entry point if you're new to her work, just like me! It sounds like such a heartwarming romance, and I'm eager to see how she tackles the small-town versus big-city dynamic. If you're wondering which one to start with, I’d say The Friend Zone is a great place to begin for the series, or dive straight into Part of Your World if you want a fresh, independent story. Her stories always promise a good laugh and some heartfelt moments, making them perfect comfort reads.
Then there’s Emily Henry! I grabbed *Happy Place*, and honestly, the cover alone makes me want to be by the water with a good book. Her books are always praised for their witty banter, deep emotional connections, and relatable characters. I've heard Happy Place is about a couple pretending to still be together during a friend group vacation, which sounds like the perfect blend of romance and angst. I’m expecting all the feels with this one, and I can't wait to see if it lives up to the hype I’ve seen all over social media. It's truly a must-read for contemporary romance lovers.
But my haul isn't just about the big-name romance authors! I also picked up Annie Bot by Sierra Greer, which sounds like a really unique take on AI and relationships. The premise of a man getting a customized AI companion has me intrigued. I'm always looking for something a bit different, and this sci-fi contemporary mix seems to fit the bill. I'm curious to see how Greer explores themes of connection, humanity, and technology in such a personal way.
And finally, for a bit of a thrill, I added The Coworker by Freida McFadden to the pile. Freida McFadden is known for her twisty thrillers that keep you guessing until the very last page. I love a good psychological suspense novel, and her books always deliver. The dark cover with the elevator door and red high-heeled shoe definitely hints at something sinister, and I'm ready to be completely hooked and probably a little spooked! It’s going to be a fun change of pace from the romances.
What a lineup, right? I'm so excited to get started on these. I’m thinking I’ll dive into Part of Your World first, then maybe *Happy Place*. What do you think? Have you read any of these? Let me know your spoiler-free thoughts or what I should pick up next! Happy reading!
I just finished Part of Your World. It was so cute.
