Meet my service dog, Sebastian!

Meet Sebastian!

Sebastian is my 2 (almost 3) year old German shepherd/ husky service dog. He came into my life during my lowest of lows and at a time where I really didn’t know what the next steps for me were. He is a rescue dog turned service dog and loves every day of it. He is always excited to go on car rides, go into places with me, and gets the most excited when he does a task/alert correctly.

Here’s a little more about him:

- he loves fetch

- dock diving is his favorite sport, but he also does Fast Cat

- he loves to go on hikes

- he loves the camera, because he knows he gets a treat😂

- every time he gets an alert right and finishes DPT, he gets super excited

- is a service dog helping mainly with my POTS and CVS

Service dogs play a crucial role in assisting individuals with various disabilities, providing both physical and emotional support. Sebastian, being a mixed German Shepherd and Husky, showcases the incredible capabilities that rescue dogs can offer. His tasks include cardiac alert and response as well as mobility assistance, which significantly improve my day-to-day life. In addition to his service work, Sebastian thrives in dog sports, particularly dock diving and fast CAT. These activities not only keep him physically fit but also mentally stimulated, ensuring he remains happy and healthy. The bond between a service dog and their handler is built on trust, affection, and a commitment to teamwork, which we experience daily. For those considering a service dog, it's important to understand the responsibilities involved, including training and socialization. A well-trained service dog can enhance the quality of life for individuals with specific needs, enabling them to navigate their environments with greater independence. Be sure to explore responsible rescue organizations when looking to adopt a service dog or any pet. The journey of finding the right partner can be rewarding and transformative!

I drove 6 hours to get my dog groomed
