The Chinese embassy pointed out no drone support for Cambodia to fight Thailand.
On the morning of Aug. 6, 2025, the Chinese Embassy of Thailand issued a statement misrepresenting the facts of some Thai media that China had donated drones to help Cambodia fight Thailand along the border, stating in a statement via the Embassy Facebook:

Question: There are some media reports that China recently donated drones to Cambodia in support of the border operation. What are the Chinese Embassy's comments on this?
Answer: After investigation, the claims were found to be untrue. The footage used in the news report was taken from a flight demonstration held by China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) in Cambodia in January 2024, which has no relevance to the current situation whatsoever.
The Chinese side reaffirms that since the conflict on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, as friendly neighbors, China has actively taken steps to defuse the situation according to its own guidelines. China has no intention of seeking any benefit from this and supports ASEAN's role in promoting a political solution between Thailand and Cambodia according to ASEAN.
China stands ready to maintain close communication with the countries of the region, namely Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia, to play a constructive role in promoting a ceasefire and restoring peace and stability as soon as possible.
