The Office of the Spokesman for the Chanthaburi and Trat Defense Command held a joint Thai-Cambodian Regional Border Committee meeting in accordance with the GBC framework, emphasizing Thailand's peaceful resolution process in accordance with the International Covenant, and pushing forward proposals for demining and crushing Scammers.
Vice Admiral Parasch Ratchaiyanth, Vice-Spokesperson of the Navy, revealed that today (August 16, 2025) Vice Admiral Petchaiyanam, Commander of the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Protection, and Major General Ui Hyung, Commander of the 3rd Military Region of the Royal Cambodian Army, as well as the regional border committees of both sides, have held a meeting of the Regional Thai-Cambodian Border Committee, or RBC in Thailand, at the Sea House, Phu Resort, Klong Yai District, Trat Province, to jointly discuss issues for order in the area and the living of the two countries by peaceful means. And signed the "Memorandum of Agreement of the Regional Border Committee (RBC), an extraordinary session between the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Protection Command, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the third region, the Kingdom of Cambodia, on August 16, 2025, in Trat, Thailand."
According to the deputy spokesman for the Navy, this meeting follows the GBC framework of August 7. Thailand is focused on a peaceful solution to the problem in accordance with the International Covenant. Thailand has added a proposal on demining to ensure security in the Thai-Cambodian border area and the crackdown on Scammers, which previously did not receive any cooperation from Cambodia as it should have, and as a result of today's meeting, it has not received any response from Cambodia.
