October 8, 2025 - The Internal Security Service (GNU) issued a statement condemning the unrest in the Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat province areas following bombings, burning, destroying CCTV cameras and arson of passenger vans at several points, even without reports of casualties or deaths, but creating terror and compromising public confidence in the area.
According to Statute General Maibhan, a spokesman for the SEC, the incident was an act of some non-hopeful groups that aimed to create divisions in society and undermine multicultural society, especially during the community's organization of traditions, which played an important role in the economy and harmony of the area.
In the aftermath of the incident, Major General Nathip Pognok, General of the 4th Division, ordered security agencies, both civil, police and military, to take close control of the situation, expediting the collection of evidence and monitoring of the perpetrators of legal proceedings, as well as increasing security measures to prevent repetition.
The General Statute also warns that those who provide support to the perpetrator, whether shelter, supply or assistance in any way, are guilty of an offence under Penal Code Section 189, punishable by up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 40,000 baht or a fine.
