The PM set up a committee to defeat cybercrime.
The Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Mr Nathin Chanwegul, signed Prime Minister's Bureau Directive No. 341 / 2025 appointing the "Committee for the Prevention and Suppression of Technological Crimes" to put in place a central strategy to combat the rapidly expanding new forms of crime, both online deception, gambling, money laundering through digital assets and fake news affecting national security.
In addition to the Prime Minister presiding over the Committee and the political and courtiers, the list to watch is
- Maj. Gen. Chiryom Bhuridesh, Assistant Commissioner of the National Police
- National District Lt. Spark Hong Mani, Director of the DSI Technology and Information Case Division
- The Governor of the Bank of Thailand oversees the flow of digital money and financial systems that may be used to launder money.
- Secretary of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to link the audit of capital market transactions.
There were also representatives of the PPC and several undersecretaries. The gathering was considered a "big cyber board" that linked financial-police-technology and security agencies to the same set.
The directive clearly states that it wants the crackdown on cybercrime to proceed in unity and respond to real-world situations in a timely manner, specifically dealing with call center gangs, fake websites and krypto transactions used to launder money.
The combination of experts from multiple units gives this committee both "power-information-technology" at hand. It can command connections from the policy level to the practical.
It is a clear sign that the government is focused on protecting people from online disasters, which cause tens of billions of baht a year in economic damage, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly and young.
ปัจจุบันอาชญากรรมไซเบอร์กลายเป็นภัยคุกคามที่ส่งผลกระทบรุนแรงต่อสังคมและเศรษฐกิจไทย โดยเฉพาะการหลอกลวงออนไลน์และฟอกเงินผ่านสินทรัพย์ดิจิทัลที่เติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว การจัดตั้งคณะกรรมการอำนวยการป้องกันและปราบปรามการกระทำความผิดอาชญากรรมทางเทคโนโลยีจึงเป็นก้าวสำคัญของรัฐบาลในการรวมพลังหลายภาคส่วนมาร่วมมือกันแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างครบวงจร การรวมตัวของหน่วยงานสำคัญ เช่น ตำรวจแห่งชาติ กองคดีเทคโนโลยี DSI ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย สำนักงาน ก.ล.ต. รวมถึง ปปง. ปปท. และ กสทช. ช่วยให้นโยบายและมาตรการด้านไซเบอร์ซิเคียวริตี้มีความเข้มแข็ง สามารถสั่งการเชื่อมต่อข้อมูลและเทคโนโลยีได้อย่างรวดเร็วและมีประสิทธิผล นอกจากนี้ ยังช่วยลดช่องว่างและความซับซ้อนของงานระหว่างหน่วยงาน เพื่อรับมือกับภัยคุกคามที่เปลี่ยนแปลงรวดเร็ว หนึ่งในประเด็นที่คณะกรรมการให้ความสำคัญคือการป้องกันแก๊งคอลเซ็นเตอร์ที่สร้างความเสียหายต่อประชาชนหลายหมื่นล้านบาทต่อปี โดยเฉพาะผู้สูงอายุและเยาวชนกลุ่มเปราะบาง อีกทั้งยังมีการดูแลความปลอดภัยของระบบการเงินดิจิทัล และป้องกันการฟอกเงินผ่านธุรกรรมคริปโตเคอเรนซีซึ่งเป็นปัญหาเร่งด่วนในยุคดิจิทัล การดำเนินงานภายใต้คณะกรรมการชุดนี้ยังเน้นการใช้เทคโนโลยีขั้นสูงร่วมกับข้อมูลการข่าวกรอง ทำให้สามารถตรวจจับและสกัดกั้นอาชญากรรมไซเบอร์ได้แบบเรียลไทม์ พร้อมทั้งสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจให้กับประชาชนในการระวังภัยไซเบอร์ เพื่อเสริมความมั่นคงปลอดภัยในโลกออนไลน์อย่างครอบคลุมและยั่งยืน สัญญาณใหม่จากรัฐบาลในยุคนี้ชัดเจนว่าเรื่องอาชญากรรมไซเบอร์จะถูกยกระดับเป็นวาระแห่งชาติ ช่วยสร้างความเชื่อมั่นให้สังคมและนักลงทุน ตลอดจนช่วยปกป้องสิทธิ์และทรัพย์สินของประชาชนจากการถูกโจมตีในโลกออนไลน์อย่างเข้มแข็งมากขึ้น
