Thai soldiers step on Cambodian bombs
On November 10, 2025, the Army's deputy spokesman, Col. Richa Suksuvanth, revealed that at 9: 30 a.m., the Army received a report from the Surinari forces that a military officer had stepped on a landmine while on a mission to patrol the route in the Huai Tamaria area, Kantlak, Sisaket, resulting in two injuries:
1. Gen. Prasad Sampong, affiliated with the 162nd Infantry Battalion, suffered severe injuries, a torn right ankle.
2. Private Vajira Panthana is compressed by the bomb, has chest tightness.
Authorities have now successfully conveyed the wounded from the area using aircraft, transported to Camp Hospital.
The crash site is across from Temple Castle, a border area at risk of landmine residue, with the Army under review for more details and will continue to report on progress.
The Prime Minister, Anin Chan Weegul, has received a report from the Army. The Prime Minister's Office spokesman, Siripong Ang Chong, revealed that the Prime Minister was concerned and uncomfortable with the incident and ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence to consider sending the protest book to the Interim Observer Corps (IOT), reiterating that it must be done to the end.
The Prime Minister also instructed the military and relevant departments to take full care of the wounded, while sending encouragement to all officers on duty in the border areas, and requested that progress be reported on continuously.
