Came back from Dubai with a suitcase full of chocolate and zero regrets! 😋🤤
I tried so many different kinds while I was there, think creamy white chocolate, chocolate-covered dates, filled bites, and even waffle-inspired ones… and yes, I was 100% in chocolate heaven.✨
Now it’s time to rate them all and share the 10/10s with you, because some of these are next-level delicious! If you haven’t tried Dubai chocolate yet, trust me… you’re missing out.🙃
... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my top picks, but maybe you're wondering how to get your hands on these incredible Dubai chocolates, or what else to look out for on your own trip! I totally get it – the sheer variety can be overwhelming, but it's also part of the fun.
If you're planning to buy some, one of the best places I found for a good selection, especially for everyday treats and even some specialty items like the Carrefour Almond Dates, is, well, Carrefour! You'll find great value there. For the more upscale or trending brands like La Lushe and Choco Zen, you might need to check out dedicated chocolate boutiques, larger supermarkets, or even department stores. The airport duty-free also has a decent selection, perfect for last-minute souvenirs, but prices can sometimes be a bit higher.
When it comes to specific flavors, the Pistachio Kunafa varieties from brands like La Lushe and Venice are truly iconic. It’s that perfect blend of crunchy pastry, rich pistachio, and smooth chocolate – a textural delight! If you love something with a spiced biscuit kick, the Choco Zen Speculoos Crunch White Chocolate Bar was an absolute winner for me. It reminded me so much of Biscoff, but in chocolate form, which is just divine. And you absolutely have to try the chocolate-covered dates – especially the ones with almonds inside. They're a classic Middle Eastern treat elevated by delicious chocolate, and they're usually not too sweet, which I love.
Speaking of brands, beyond the viral ones like La Lushe and Choco Zen, you’ll often see Patchi chocolates. While my specific Patchi experience wasn't a 10/10, they are a very well-known and respected brand for luxury chocolates in the region, so don't rule them out – they have a huge range! For something a bit different, I even found Waferollo Almond which were surprisingly good and reminded me of a fancy Ferrero Rocher.
A common question people have, especially when traveling to a Muslim-majority country, is about Halal certification. Most mainstream chocolates found in Dubai supermarkets, especially those produced locally or sourced from reputable international brands, are generally Halal-friendly. However, if this is a significant concern for you, always look for the Halal logo on the packaging. It's usually a clear symbol that ensures the product complies with Islamic dietary laws. Brands like Bateel, known for their gourmet dates and date-based chocolates, are also incredibly popular and generally well-regarded for their quality and Halal standards.
Price-wise, you can expect a wide range. A standard bar of viral chocolate might be anywhere from 20-50 AED (approx. $5-$14 USD), while gift boxes from luxury brands can run much higher. My advice? Don't be afraid to try a few different kinds and brands. Part of the adventure is discovering what you love! Happy chocolate hunting!
I would like to try 😂❤️
