Herbal Tea for Constipation Relief 🌿

If your digestion feels slow, heavy, bloated, or backed up… sometimes your body isn’t asking for medicine, it’s asking for support 🌿

This homemade herbal tea blend combines Tulsi, Chicory, Black Radish, Lemongrass, and Peppermint to gently help the body restore natural digestive flow and reduce constipation without harsh stimulants.

Here’s why this blend works so well⬇️

Tulsi (Holy Basil)

Helps calm the nervous system and supports the gut-stress connection. When stress slows digestion, Tulsi helps restore balance naturally.

Chicory Root

A natural source of prebiotic fiber that supports healthy gut bacteria and encourages regular bowel movement.

Black Radish

Traditionally used to support liver detox pathways and bile flow, which plays a major role in relieving sluggish digestion and constipation.

Lemongrass

Helps reduce bloating, water retention, and digestive heaviness after meals.

Peppermint

Relieves intestinal tension, supports smoother digestion, and helps reduce gas naturally.

Together, this blend supports:

✔ natural constipation relief

✔ reduced bloating

✔ liver support

✔ gut balance

✔ smoother digestion after meals

This is one of my favorite gentle herbal teas to drink when my body feels inflamed, sluggish, or out of rhythm.

Save this for your next digestion reset 🌿✨

If making a jar like the one in my photo 🌿

Use this balanced batch recipe⬇️

4 tbsp Tulsi

4 tbsp Chicory

2 tbsp Black Radish

4 tbsp Lemongrass

4 tbsp Peppermint

Store airtight away from sunlight.

Then scoop 1 tablespoon per cup when brewing.

Why black radish is lower in the blend (important)

Black radish supports bile flow + liver detox, which helps constipation, but too much can feel intense if used daily.

Keeping it at half-strength makes this blend

✔ gentle

✔ safe for regular use

✔ effective without cramping

** If constipation is hormonal-cycle related or stress-related (very common), add:

½ tsp fennel seed per cup

It boosts movement and reduces bloating even faster.

... Read moreFrom my experience, incorporating herbal teas like this blend into my daily routine has significantly improved my digestion and alleviated constipation symptoms naturally. Tulsi (Holy Basil) not only calms the nervous system but also eases stress-related gut issues, which are common triggers for sluggish digestion. The inclusion of Chicory root, rich in prebiotic fiber, nourishes good gut bacteria, promoting regular bowel movements, which I noticed became more consistent over time. One key aspect I appreciated about this blend is the careful balance of Black Radish. Since it supports liver detoxification and bile flow—critical for digestion—keeping it at a lower proportion helps maintain gentleness while avoiding any harsh effects. Lemongrass contributes by minimizing bloating and water retention, making meals feel lighter, while peppermint relaxes intestinal muscles and helps reduce gas, creating a soothing effect post-meal. To prepare, I steep one tablespoon of the blend in 10-12 oz of hot water for about 10 minutes, drinking it preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or after my largest meal. On days when stress or hormonal changes impact my digestion more, adding a pinch of fennel seeds per cup accelerates relief and eases bloating even faster. For anyone dealing with occasional constipation and digestive discomfort, this tea offers a holistic and gentle alternative worth trying. Consistency is key; regular daily use supports liver function, gut balance, and overall digestive health without cramping or harsh side effects. Plus, making a batch to store in an airtight jar keeps the ingredients fresh and convenient for daily brewing.
